On November 16, 2016, the Specialized Tribunal Cluj ordered the cessation of Uber services in Cluj-Napoca until the resolution of the case concerning unfair competition, following a request made by our law firm as a representative of the Taxi Monitoring Association Transylvania.
The request was made based on the provisions of Article 7(3) of Law No. 11/1991 on combating unfair competition, combined with the provisions of the Civil Procedure Code. The court was asked to order the cessation or prohibition of unfair competition practices consisting of providing public transportation services, for a fee, using a car, without holding the required legal authorizations. This measure was to remain in effect until the resolution of the case related to unfair competition.
